I was feeling especially dotty today and decided to put on two dot patterns! Is that even considered pattern mixing? Not sure, but I love how it turned out. Felt very spring and happy, and guess what, the weather feels spring and happy too! Yesterday we had snow flurries all day, but today it was up to mid 50s and tomorrow and thursday possibly even 70's!

As it turns out exercise alone is not enough to help my body loose some weight, I've actually gained a pound since running! Probably from all those cookies I eat after dinner time, that's when I am at my weakest. Anyone else seem to become more and more weak as the day carries on? It's just so hard to resist all the yummy treats in our pantry. As of right now though I'm doing well, eating unsalted nuts and greek yogurt! You may be thinking I don't really need to loose weight, but that's not really my goal to be honest. I want to be healthy. Food alters our feelings and we don't even notice it, I hate that. You know that feeling after pounding down a big mac? Yeah I don't want to feel that ever again. I just want to be happy.

Life seems busy lately, but I'm content with that. The busier I am the faster time goes. The faster time goes the closer I get to spring break. The closer I get to spring break the sooner I will see my family, and I absolutely cannot wait for that!

White Lies

Here is the other outfit shoot I did with Serena last week, I actually like this one more than the last! The bridge where we took these, although scary since you could see down to the bottom and I'm a tad scared of heights, was so beautiful and majestic. Serena and I were hopping around this bridge, as if that would prevent us from falling. I'm sure we looked silly to the passing cars.

This pair of brogues here is from my first ever purchase at Modcloth! If only I knew how much this pair of shoes would change not only my style, but my whole life! Which is of course, is completely surrounded by fashion now.

How adorable is this little satchel back pack from Oasap? I was so delighted when they contacted me, because I had been eyeing this pretty for a while. Not only is it an adorable back pack, but you can also use it as just a purse! (comes with a long strap) However I have wanted to a satchel/back pack forever, so not sure if I will even ever use it as a regular purse!

I feel terribly bad for not posting as much as I should be, I promise I'll try and do better. I've been a tad stressed with school and home life, but it will all resolve soon I'm sure. In the mean time though I have been burying myself in books (currently reading Duchess, an novel about Sarah Churchill, it's lovely!) and have been trying to run everyday. I even ran in the rain yesterday! It feels so good to run lately, I can hardly believe I am saying this, but really I envy joggers when I see them on the way to school. I wish I could be out there too getting some good exercise!

Enough of my madness though, how's everyone else's weekend going? Oh did I mention, I am going to see Celtic Women tomorrow! Stoked!

So excited to share these photos with ya'll today! Not sure if you remember, but I had a photo shoot with Serena back in autumn {Here, Here, and Here}. She a super friendly, stylish, and fun photographer and I'm happy to say she's a friend now too. Technically one of my first friends since moving to Maryland, which excludes anyone I have met through Zach. We had a super fun day taking pictures and we even went out to lunch at Panera, one of my absolute favorites! I hope we can do more shoots in the future, I really had a blast with this one.

There are two pieces I want to mention from this outfit. One being the really adorable camera print/ wooden necklace. My sister bought me this for christmas and I really couldn't be happier with it. Oh did I mention it's hand made? A super bonus! Secondly I don't believe I have shown you my magnificent camera bag, which was also a christmas gift, from Ona. It has wonderful padded compartments for my camera and extra lenses, plus it has a little padded sleeve for my mac book! It makes traveling so much easier! Plus it's a satchel and completely adorable.

Take A Leap

Okay, I have a slight obsession with England and France. I've been to both once before, with my momma, where we had the time of our lives. Although I didn't know it at the time, this one trip would leave such a deep impact on how I view the world, myself, and really my whole life. Anyone who knows me can tell you all about my obsession with Europe. Now, I was sitting in my room, just lying on my bed, when the thought suddenly came to me, if I love it so much, why am I not there? Sure there are reasons such as money and that I am currently enrolled in school here. But really, why am I not making my dream come true? That's why I have decided, no matter what it takes, I am going to study abroad once I transfer to university. I want to feel and experience! I want to go to museums, eat macaroons, explore charity shops, make new friends, discover who I really am. I could probably blab on about it for hours, I'm just so inspired right now. I see my dream, I know I can achieve it, and that's a greet feeling!

Hope everyone is having a fun filled weekend, unlike me. I signed up for drawing class this semester thinking how wonderful and relaxing it would be. Somehow it has turned into a nightmare, even worse than my statistics class, and I hate math! I think since moving out of my parents house I've grown a little OCD about things. Now whenever I am drawing it has to perfect. I just spent probably a good 6-7 hours drawing and outline of a few random items. It's so miserable! The worst part is I still have to paint it, ugh.

In A Galaxy Far Far Away...

One day I am browsing through Etsy, which is quite a normal occurrence. When suddenly I was struck by this marvelous idea to search for Star Wars paraphernalia. And what did I find? This adorable dress! You can check out the shop, and perhaps even buy yourself something nice at Rusty Cuts. The shop owner, Judith, is seriously one of the nicest ladies I have ever talked to. I had a few specifications I needed, due to my height, and she was so obliging! I was a bit worried since I've never bought anything handmade, but this is true quality! Plus it fits like a glove, I'm seriously geeking out over here.

I also want to quickly mention that I wasn't asked to talk about where I got this dress or even link to it. I am pretty sure Judith has no idea I own a blog, but I really want you guys to know how awesome she and her shop are.

Any who, I am at a really good part in Memoirs of a Geisha, and it's calling out my name!

The Watch Tower

One of the best parts of living in the country, besides the peace and quiet, is all the lovely place you can take pictures at! These ones were shot at a dam, only a five minute drive from my house. Not only was it nice to have a new backdrop for outfit pictures, but it was so soothing to listen to the water flowing beneath me and the fresh wind blowing through my hair. I must admit I've become quite accustomed to the slower pace of life out in the middle of no where and, when the time comes, I have to move on, I'll truly miss this place.

One place I will miss the most is probably our bike trail, which is a path running through the woods and next to a creek, it once was railway tracks. I can't wait till spring and I'll by riding my bike through the heavily shaded trail and stopping for picnics and even perhaps pictures!

I don't believe I have mentioned it on here yet, but I've started running. Now I've never really enjoyed running, in the past I've always viewed it as a punishment. But my boyfriend's sister and mom have truly inspired me. They ran the half marathon at Disney in December and I was so awe struck by how empowered they felt after the race, how happy. I wanted to feel that too! Since I have started I feel much happier on a regular basis and it also seems that I can get more done than before. And now running has inspired me to even start eating healthy, which I believe is a large contributor to my new found joy in life. Everything feels right and I couldn't be more delighted.

DIY: Heart Shaped Elbow Pads

Yep, another DIY! I've had all these wonderful ideas running through my head and I want to share them with y'all. This one was inspired by all the hearts going around for Valentine's Day, and the best part is they will be cute all year round!

Here is what you will need:

Scissors
An old sweater/cardigan
1/2 yard of felt (any color you wish!)
Thread and a needle
Sewing pins

I chose this sweater I got from Urban Outfitters last year. Although it's super comfy and a wonderful tan color it has been less than inspiring for me lately. What better way to vamp it up then dark brown elbow pads? I bought 1/2 a yard of felt, which is probably way more than you will actually need. Just better to be safe than sorry!

Next I pulled on the sweater and used a washable marker to show were my elbows hit. I realized it would have been much easier to just use pins to mark it because I tried it on again and my elbows were in a different place! Like my daddy says, measure twice cut once, so make sure you pull it off and then back on again and make sure the mark is still where you want it. After getting the correct elbow placement I measured the width of the sleeve where my mark was, 14 centimeters.

Now, for cutting the hearts I took the felt and folded it over. I put a pin at 7 inches (half the width of the sleeve). The pin is to ensure I didn't cut my heart wider than the sleeve is.

Here is what your heart should look like after you cut it out. Doing the halfway heart trick ensures that both sides are perfectly even.

I put the heart on the sleeve to make sure it was the size I wanted.

To cut the second heart just trace cut around the first heart.

Next you pin the hearts over the elbow mark you made earlier. Then I measured from the bottom of the heart to the end of the sleeve. You want this measurement to be even on both sides.

Lastly you are going to stitch on the hearts! The reason I hand stitched is because I don't know how to use a sewing machine properly. Plus I think the little hand stitches are more cute anyway! :)

After you finish sewing you run outside and take cute outfit pictures:

I want to quickly mention that Star Wars 3-D was amazing. I hope they do it with the other ones too! Also that I have probably consumed more than two pounds of chocolate this week, seriously one of the best chocolate holidays. Zach, on top of all the chocolate, bought me flowers and a really cute teddy bear. The best part though, were these adorable little handmade coupons. One is for a 20 minute back scratch and another is for outfit photos, etc.. Hehe, was so sweet. I bought him a really gnarly snake book, which he absolutely adored. Have I mentioned my boyfriend has a snake addiction?

Sorry for not posting all week, really I did go out and take outfit pictures twice, but the background didn't match my outfit and the lighting was bad and blah. Didn't like them!

DIY: Bleached & Studded Shorts

Hey darlings! Good news here, I have another DIY for y'all! The last one I did, Glitter Shoes, received a lot of positive feedback, so I'm really excited to see how much you'll like this one. Enjoy!

First off, here is the pair of shorts I have been drooling over for a while now..

You can buy these shorts at Runway Dreamz for $152.00

Just a quick side note -- I went into this thinking that was a completely ridiculous price, but now after making a pair I completely understand why they would charge so much. It must have taken forever to get these frayed so wondrously!

So here is what you will need to make these shorts!

1. And old pair of high waisted shorts/jeans

2. Bleach

3. Scissors {depending on how much you want to fray, sandpaper would be nice too!}

4. An old bucket

5. A yard stick {or something to hold the shorts over the bucket}

6. Gloves

7. Distilled White Vinegar

8. Studs

I went to the thrift store and found these shorts for $3.00

I opted for a pair that was a little bigger than my size, that way they will be more comfortable while wearing. If you want to take a pair of old jeans and make them cut offs, just make sure you cut below the end of the crotch. {Made that mistake once!}

Here is what you will need next...

I super recommend doing the bleaching process outside because the fumes can be really harmful for you! If you're outside they dissipate quicker and don't stay around your room.. Also please wear the gloves while handling the bleach. An apron is probably a good idea also.

I put my stick through the belt loops to hold them up during the bleaching process. That way only half my shorts were getting bleached. I used the whole can of bleach and then poured in some water to raise the level. I didn't really measure anything, just eyed it. After letting it sit for a half hour I brought them to my laundry room.

I put them in the sink here, filled with half water and half distilled white vinegar. This part is really important because it stops the bleaching process. After this part the bottom of the shorts should be nearly white. I let them sit in the sink for 10 minutes and then threw them in the wash on a delicate cycle. Make sure you don't wash anything with the shorts for the first few times. Once they were done in the dryer, they looked like this:

Now here comes the fun part! I bought 100 small pyramid studs off of Ebay, I am pretty sure they cost $5.00 with shipping. I would definitely recommend you buy bigger studs, for I didn't quite know how little these were going to be. The bigger the stud the less work you have to do!

You can stud wherever you want on the shorts, I chose to do the back pocket and on the little pocket in the front.

I unthreaded the left side of the pocket and pulled it down so you would be able see studs underneath.

To ensure the studs on the back didn't get caught on tights or undies I hand stitched a piece of scrap fabric on the inside of the pocket. I distressed my pair a little bit by pinching the fabric and cutting a hole. Then I frayed it a bit, washed again, and voila!

In Someone Else's Shoes

Hello sunshine! And not only cloudless skies, but a hint of Spring temperatures as well. Considering it just snowed on saturday, I'm a bit confused. Anyone else feel this way? Not that I'm complaining, I fully enjoyed the mini snow storm on saturday as well as some nice vitamin D today. After class I went to my car {his name is Pierre} and cracked all the windows down. I leaned my chair back and just sat there enjoying the simple pleasure of being warm. It almost felt like I was back home in California, I've been a bit homesick lately and today helped a lot. See, it even motivated me to go and take pictures!

Okay let me take a quick second to explain these gorgeous flats you see above. I am out taking my boyfriend's little sister to our local Goodwill. We are browsing through, and I casually look up at all the shoes, even though I know they won't have my size. I've mentioned I have giant feet before, right? A size 11! Then I see these pretty brown leather loafers all the way in the corner. I cocked my head to the side, because I was in shock, they actually looked like they could be my size. I took off my Dr. Martens and slipped one loafer on. And then... they fit perfect and I decided these must be my Cinderella shoes! These are my glass slippers, even though they might be a little bit less extravagant. It's amazing to find my size at a thrift store and I am so happy, I've even worn them the past three days. Comfiest shoes ever!

In Another Shade

I've realized I only take pictures in dresses. Which wouldn't be a problem if that was all I wore, but it's not! Lately I have been wearing jeans more and I am planning on wearing shorts and skirts more. Sometimes you just get stuck in a pattern and it can be hard to break. I believe I go to dresses when taking pictures because they make my body look the best. It's amazing how insecurities can even effect me here, in my place, my safe haven.

I've been wanting to post some pictures in black and white for a while now. However when I lost the bright gold of the cardigan it completely dulled the shots. Hooray for photoshop though!

Oh did I mention we might get some more snow?? So excited! I thought we were just going to skip right over to spring, I didn't even get to wear my cheetah print coat yet!

Skull Candy

About a month ago I was approached by a lovely rep for the online clothing boutique, Sheinside, and was asked if I would be interested in collaborating with them. I was given a certain amount to spend and was able to pick out a lovely item {this purple skull tunic} and all I had to do was wear it on my blog! They didn't ask me to the review the item, but that's what I'm doing! The first thing that attracted to me to this piece was of course it's color, purple. The second was the awesome, yet subtle, skull pattern. It matches my personal style perfectly sugar with a little kick! I was so excited when the package came I could hardly hold in the squeals wanting to come out. I ripped through the plastic envelope and was pleased that the coloring and pattern looked as nice as it did online. There weren't any loose threads and the fabric is much thicker than I thought it would be, both pleasant surprises. I did have one issue though. The sleeves were a tad tight on my arms, which is probably my fault for not double checking all the measurements. I noticed after a half hour that it didn't feel uncomfortable or anything like that. I should also mention that it is listed as a dress on the website... due to my height though that definitely wasn't going to happen. As you can see it is quite short on me! Luckily it makes an adorable tunic, and I'm excited to get a lot of use out of it.

I'm also excited because today was my first day back at school! All my teachers seem nice, even though I am a bit scared for my math class. I know if I work hard it will all turn out okay though. Even though I had to get up way too early and stumble out of bed and to the car in the freezing icy morning, it was worth it for my first class! Art. The teacher seems amazing and I am excited to just relax for the two hour class, listen to music, and let the creativity pour out. I needed this class so bad last semester. Is art the best therapy out there? I think yes.

Unfortunately my poor kitty got fixed last thursday and now she is staring at me in her cone with wide pleading eyes. I think she needs snuggles now, happy monday everyone!

Ready! Set! Snow!

Finally! Some snow, I've been waiting forever. It always seems like everyone else in the world gets snow before we do, leaving me wanting even more! Right now I am just sitting in front of our french doors staring out into the world of glistening white. It is so beautiful, it's hard to even explain. The worst part -- it will be gone shortly. Today will be back up to the mid 40s and rain will be pouring down, melting all the beauty, all the dreams. I'll miss you gleaming snow!

I wore this out on a movie date with my boyfriend the other night. We went to see Mission Impossible and boy, Tom Cruise still has it. He did an amazing job, I am secretly hoping they make another one soon!

I've been having this urge lately to learn how to use a sewing machine. I am not sure where to start though, my {as in my boyfriend's sister's} sewing machine doesn't even work. I should take it in to get it fixed, but not really sure where to do that either. I want to sew spring dresses and make cute gloves. Lately it's been difficult to express my creative side, although I did get some of that out while making this layout {was a total blast!}. School is starting back up next week and I'm taking a drawing class, which I can barely wait for! So excited, it's been forever since I have had an actual art class. Ones I have taken in the past always find a way to calm my worries and ease my spirit. I could use some of that right now :)

Rosy In Winter

All the winter excitement is now over. The holidays, the Disney vacation, and the visits from my family. I woke up this morning, after sleeping well past 11 AM, and ate a bowl of cereal all alone. The silence was comforting though, after all the hustle and bustle I've been going through. I read my lovely Dan Brown novel, anyone here read The Lost Symbol? So good! Then I cleaned a bit, which always seem to help put me at ease, the tediousness of it all is very welcoming. I seem to get some of my best thinking time done while cleaning. And today I realized I really want to learn how to cook! I can pop waffles in the toaster and make a mean grilled cheese, but that's about the extent of my capabilities. So my question to you guys is where does one find simple but delicious recipes? Is that something you just pop into google? Or perhaps I should go out and buy a cooking book, have any recommendations for that?

In another news I pulled out my Cambridge satchel yesterday, I forgot how lovely it is! Seriously one of the best birthday gifts I have ever received! Thanks darling!

Love my new cap I received for Christmas. It somehow magically matches this cardigan I got last year! Plus it kept my ears all nice toasty for the day!

Purple has always been one of my favorite colors. Up till recently however, I didn't own any purple clothing! Thanks to my loving family and the holiday season my wardrobe is now filled with purple goodies, including, dresses, scarfs, hats, and tights! Why is purple my favorite you ask? It's majestic and girly soft at the same time. The best part is common folk were not allowed to wear purple back in the day, it was reserved for royalty alone. Which is just a little fact I picked up through my obsession with the Tudors {no, not just the TV show! Though it was really good.. } I feel connected to them somehow, which I am sure is silly. I have this little belief that I was on of Henry VIII's wives that her head chopped off. I'm super sensitive to things touching the front of my neck... I can't even wear turtle necks or shirts buttoned all the way to the top. I know it's a weird theory, but maybe in a past life, who knows!

The Kittens Meow

Brr! It was freezing during this photo shoot. I'm lucky you can't really tell how red my nose was! The wind was bone chilling and finger numbing! My sister, who has lived in Southern California her whole life, was literally turning purple by the time we were running back to the car. Luckily I had my mittens and cap to keep me warm. Aren't they the most adorable? I got them during that suer lovely sale Modcloth had a few months back. Which makes me realize I never buy anything full price. Always from the thrift store or on sale at a regular store! Haha, I'm silly.

I'm really happy my sister is visiting, she's genuinely fun to be around. And she likes to take pictures for lookbook, which means we can take pictures for each other. Considering my remote antenna snapped in my pocket the other day, it's pretty good timing!

The World Of Disney

Hi everyone, I'm back from Florida! Had a really fun time, even though I hit a few tummy troubles on the way. Fortunately my stomach has a history of acting up all the time, so it wasn't too bad. I was most excited to go the Magic Kingdom park, but it was the one I was most displeased with. I'm a California girl, so of course I have been to Disneyland out there. Now if I compare Disneyland with Magic Kingdom, Disneyland definitely wins! Especially the Space Mountain ride in California, one hundred times better!

Now, on the other hand, totally LOVED Epcot! It was so exciting and I got to the "UK" which was a blast. I might have even bought a Union Jack to hang in my room... anyways, the coolest part about Epcot was all the employees from the different countries were actually from the country where they were working. For example we ate in Italy one night and our waitress was actually from Italy! Isn't that exciting? My only regret about Epcot was that I didn't really get to visit France, would have been so fun to actually use my French!

Then there was Hollywood studios, I really enjoyed this one. Hollywood tower of terror was so much fun! That feeling when your tummy drops and you can't stop giggling.. love it! I also fully enjoyed Star Tours, as you probably know, I am an avid Star Wars lover. And they just updated this ride recently, which made it super amazing!

I took this last picture at Animal Kingdom. It almost looks like a real mountain doesn't it? We really only went to Animal Kingdom for dinner one night so I can't rate this park too well. Pretty much it's a massive zoo on steroids! I saw monkeys, flamingos, elephants, a big scary lion, and giraffes. And I was only there for two hours! Definitely would love to explore this one more, maybe next time. :)

New boots! Oh, new shoes make me so happy. I think, perhaps, I'm a shoe-a-holic. Luckily most shoe companies don't make my size! Then I would have millions of pairs!

Any who, right about now I am on my way to Florida! Yes, you heard right, I'm headed off to Disney World for five days. I am going to try and take a lot of pictures, but we'll see how carrying my camera around all day goes. I've never been before so I'm extremely excited. Plus going anywhere with my boyfriend is always fun, he is constantly giving me giggle fits :).

I drove my mommy to the airport today, it didn't really dawn on me that she was going to be gone again till I was driving in the car on the way home. I feel so lonely without her already. It's so hard to live apart from your best friend. Hopefully I'll be able to fly home for spring break, love you mom, hope your flight went well!

It has been such an eye opening year full of surprises, dreams come true, and disappointments. I've made it another year, but it feels like I have learned much more than that. I'm half way done with college, I live away from my parents, I manage my own money, and I have a personal style blog that I pour my heart into. I've met some amazing girls since blogging, it is such a wonderful community to be apart of. Now, if only they all lived near me and we could go thrifting together :)

I put together a little list of New Year's resolutions!

I am trying this new thing, it's called dressing for myself and not for my blog. I have noticed, since I've been blogging, that I tend to get into a sort of style rut when picking things out because all that is running through my head is "what would look cute in pictures". Now all I am doing is picking out what I want to wear, for me. And this is what I came up with. I drew inspiration from other bloggers of course, mainly those from England and Sweden at the moment. I was cozy all day plus I think this outfit turned out just fine in pictures, even though I am wearing a pair of jeans!

Also want to mention how in love I am with this new jacket from Modcloth. I have been searching for the perfect leather jacket far too long, and now it's mine! Such a wonderful feeling when you find something you have been looking everywhere for.

My mommy is in town so now I am off to go be with her, happy friday!

I am happy to say I had a wonderful holiday weekend and an even more wonderful Christmas. I got so many wonderful things and spending all day with the boyfriend and family was so delightful. Plus we watched Water For Elephants together, such an amazing movie. :)

I threw together this outfit from all the new things I received on sunday. Let me first say this purse is too perfect! I love how it is still a satchel, but not as structured as my other ones, it feels so refreshing. Secondly Dr. Martens!!!! And pretty cherry colored ones at that. What a surprise they were, I often feel the older you get the harder it is to surprise with gifts... but my parents did an amazing job, I love them mum and dad! Third I have been drooling over this Jack by BB Dakota sweater for ages. It has everything I love. And it's flattering on my body, which is quite an impressive feat for its shape. Lastly, a new pair of sweater tights! It's so hard to find ones that fit my unnaturally long legs, but my parents are magic workers this year!

I really am interested in what you guys got for Christmas/Hanukkah, so let me know! Clothing and accessory gifts are the best thing for a fashion blogger, it's what we live for!

I've been having a bit of trouble putting outfits together that are picture worthy. It seems like my style is changing once again. Why can't my mind just make up its mind? For as long as I can remember it has always been about dressing to a certain category. Wether that was skater chick or hollister lover, I've always felt a strange need to pick one style and stick to it. You can't dress completely innocent and girly one day and then look like a punk the next. Or can you? No, it feels wrong, unnatural, fake even. Since starting Wild Flower I have been trying to blend all these styles together, which appears to keep getting more difficult! How am I suppose to stay to true to myself if I am not sure who I am or who I want to be in the future?

I had a brilliant idea to reread all the Twilight books and spread it out so when the last movie came out I'll be nice an refreshed. Sadly I started the first book two weeks ago and am already half way through Eclipse... oops. Stephanie Meyer truly has a gift for wonderfully soppy romance books that are supernatural and fun to read! Have any of you read The Host? It's amazing as well... Anyways, back to the topic, I have been slightly obsessing over Pacific Northwest fashion over the past weeks. And as usual I am very inspired by London fashion as well. Mixing these two styles has proved to be... interesting. I like the challenge, but sometimes I pull on three different outfits in one day! Which is incredibly annoying. I've been wearing jeans lately because I walk in my cloest and become too frustrated to pull together a lovely ensemble. Hence no pictures... jeans and pictures are not my favorite thing to do.

Hopefully all my new clothes for Christmas will fix all these worries, I'm getting a leather jacket! So excited.

I'll probably update before Christmas but if I don't I hope you all have a merry one!

I walk outside the door and feel the cold rush of air on my cheeks. It is chillier than I had pictured when putting together this outfit, perhaps sweater tights would have been more appropriate. Already committed, I walk on to the forest line. The usual routine follows, set up the tripod, turn on my wireless remote, double check settings on my camera and then smile big. Everything is normal, but then I hear it. Hear what you ask? It sounds distant, like a far away diesel truck. But then it grows louder and louder, to a deafening roar. No, not a roar, a screech. I look around, puzzled, but see nothing. Then I look up. Thousands of tiny birds are flying across the winter sky. I stare a minute, from such a far distance, completely astonished. Only then do I realize what a wonderful time it is to have my camera out! I quickly snatch my Canon off the tripod and manage one shot, I knew I only needed one. The contrasting black of birds and branches against a grey overcast sky couldn't have made for a more beautiful picture.

Where are they traveling to, I pondered after they were out of sight. How free and liberating it must feel to fly away, anywhere you like! Travel the world if your up to it. I have never felt more envious of an animal then when I stared up at the pepper specks against the greying clouds. It seems unfair that they could live such carefree and simple lives. Maybe, one day, I can gather up all my courage and fly wherever my heart desires too.

Hi everyone!

Hope all are well... I have been thoroughly enjoying the life of a girl with bangs. I can't explain how much easier my daily routine is and how much better I feel about my looks over all. These bangs have given me a bit of needed confidence as well as a ton of compliments. Why didn't I get them sooner?!

In other news, the weather has become chilly and Panera has started selling their yummy gingerbread cookies and peppermint hot chocolate; in other words I am in the holiday mood! All I want to do is buy presents and stare at our twinkling giant of a christmas tree. I don't even mind all the holiday songs they repeat at work constantly. And my Christmas break has begun, so now I am off till February! Hooray. My mother is coming to visit for New Year's and then I am going to Disney World with the boyfriend and his family, and when we get back home my lovely sister is visiting. Talk about a million things to look forward to!

Oh, before I forget, Modcloth has been having these daily sales on top of hundreds of items they added to the regular sale section, you definitely need to check it out. Considering I am already getting a lot of Modcloth things for Christmas I've been trying not to buy anything, but it's so tempting haha!

Hi pals!

Isn't the floral pattern on this dress so lovely? I am pretty sure it cost under fifteen dollars too. Hooray for deals! Do any of you lovelies know where you can buy a sweater shaver thing-a-bob? This one is way too fuzzy and it's so warm and perfect, except for all the pieces hanging off.

I'm sorry my posting has been a bit slow lately, I know I've been a terrible blogger over the past two weeks. Things should be up and running back to normal soon though. Finals and work have been a tid bit hectic. I'm really loving my new job though, everyone is super supportive and fun to be around. Yesterday one of the girls made red velvet cupcakes for everyone, which is my absolute favorite, yum!

Hi Everyone!

How's it going? So are any other bloggers hating how early the sun sets now? I took these pictures at three and the sun was already a golden ball near the horizon! Hooray photoshop for being able to brighten my dark pictures. Oh, I believe one of my readers asked me how I edit my pictures and really I don't do that much. I boost up the contrast, brightness and saturation {while avoiding saturating my skin tone} and put a little vignette around the shot. But that's about it! I suppose my camera does a lot of the magic for me *snuggles camera*.

I finally decided to venture out in public with the tripod again... and it went so much better than the first time. There were no creepy strangers staring me! This little broken down house is in a park about ten minutes from my house. It is the same place where I took pictures with Serena last month, if you remember that. They actually have quite a few broken down houses, it would be lovely to know their history!

It's holiday time! I'm so excited :)

How perfect is this LBD? Been looking for one like this for so long! And finally it's here. Thank you Modcloth! It has a really cute low cut back too, but silly me forgot to get a picture of it, *sigh*.I received my two packages from their sale today. One had this dress and adorable little heels. Which I bought using my first paycheck, a little celebration hehe. And the second is the Christmas gifts I bought for myself... well really my dad paid for it, but I'm going to wrap them and put them under the tree. :)

I've missed blogging this week, I was actually frightened that my style was going to turn sour if I stopped blogging. I've been dreaming of wearing this cardigan that I purchased from Modcloth a couple months ago. How cute are the roses? I sort of felt like a peppermint in all this red and white, but that being said I didn't view it as a bad thing! Made me feel all festive and I wanted hot chocolate. {Panera later? Yes please!} The weather permitted bare legs, which is strange for this time of year. Made me happy though, tights might have thrown off this whole look. Does that every happen to you? So annoying. Oh, like my fleur de lis earring? They were a gift from my mum :)

I'm a working girl now! And I can already tell things are going to be a bit hectic till I figure out a schedule that works in balancing out school, work, blogging, family, and boyfriend. Wish me luck! haha.

My new H&M Coat, love it! Feels weird wearing an over coat that wasn't thrifted. A nice change though. :) I don't have to sew the pockets together or try and wipe away stains. Definitely worth the price.

Hello busy schedule! Things have been a bit all over the place lately, it's a good change though. Keeping busy suits me. It rained all day today, which I normally love, except I knew taking pictures would be tricky. The gazebo in the yard saved the day though. Dry camera = happy blogger.

When I woke up today I felt a little sick and depressed. Food lately has just sounded awful. I really just wanted to dress comfy and I knew my sweater tights were the perfect answer. Luckily the day got much better as it went on. And Mcdonald's breakfast was exceptionally yummy once I got over the thought of throwing up. Their pancakes can cure anything seriously!

I've been addicted to polyvore lately, so much fun to put together all these dream outfits. I thought I would do a post of remixing a dress I've been drooling over at Topshop. Will probably put that up tomorrow or friday.

Also wanted to thank you guys for all your compliments on the glitter shoes. I'm so glad you liked them. And no, the glitter doesn't fall off as you walk around. That's what the extra layers of glue are for! Definitely should try a pair, they are fun to make :)

Hi Dolls,

So this is my first DIY post on Wild Flower! Wahoo. I'm quite excited about it because I love how these babies turned out. This past weekend I decided to vamp up an old pair of oxfords for fun and sparkly ones. I was sort of inspired by New Year's {I know it's still totally early to be thinking about that} and by these amazing shoes:

Now these puppies were a little bit out of my price range, but they were so beautiful, I couldn't get there glimmering awesomeness out of my mind. Here's the tutorial on how to make these for less than twenty dollars, enjoy!

Here is what you will need:

An old or new pair of oxfords, I used an old pair.
Glitter, of your color choice!
Mod Podge glue, glasse finish {right next to the tacky glue at a craft store}
A bowl
Two sponge brushes
Toothpicks {optional}
Painter's tape {I didn't use mine, but would have been so helpful at the end!}
Water proof shoe protecter
Newspaper, to glitter on without making a giant mess

Here are the Oxford's I used, which were bought from Urban Outfitter's last year for ten dollars. These were the perfect pair to use because I was tired of my boyfriend calling them my "granny" shoes. Apparently his grandmother has these too? Definitely need glitterified!

First off you will be needing your glitter, I used this kind:

Then you are going to pour the glue and glitter into a designated bowl. I recommend a lot of glitter for this. Probably more than you would think necessary.

After that you mix it all up with one of your sponge brushes! Should look something like this:

After finding the right mixture you are going to paint on an even coat of the glitter glue. Make sure to take out the laces!

Note: If you want to use painter's tape for the soles and inside of the shoe you should do so before starting any gluing on the shoe.

Wait 20 minutes before you start your second layer so the glue can dry on the shoe. For the glue in the bowl, I used plastic wrap to cover it up, making sure it didn't dry out. They should look something like this:

Now, for the second coat I poured glitter from the bottle onto the shoe and then pushed it in with the leftover glitter glue from before. You want to try and make pretty even coats, which you do by smoothing out the glitter with long strokes of the brush across the shoe.

Below is what my shoe looked like after two coats. I ended up doing another coat at the end just to ensure it was full sparkles. After that I took glue and, using my other sponge brush, put on two layers without any sparkles mixed in. This step is to ensure none of the sparkles fall off. After the layers of glue dried I took my shoe outside and sprayed it with waterproof shoe protecter. If you don't do this, they will most likely be ruined from any contact with water. We had some lying around the house, but I'm pretty sure it's not that expensive.

Next you will be needing your toothpicks to poke through the preexisting holes for laces. If you don't have toothpicks lying around you can also use the tips of laces themselves.

Once your holes are made, lace em up! I had an extra pair of blue laces from my Keds, so I ended up using those. The tan ones were a bit ruined.

And there you have it! $380 shoes for much much less! Once you wear these out in public, make sure your prepare yourself for lots of compliments. They are the definition of statement shoe. I am hoping to wear mine on the next date night with my boy. :)

Evening little darlings,

A lot has been going on lately. Mainly good things, I finally got around to doing a DIY project for the blog {which I'll put up soon!} and I got a lot sewn this weekend. My favorite teddy bear, Vanilla, had a horrible hole in the foot and leg. But she is all patched now, I also gave her a new eye! Vanilla and I have been through a lot over the years, it makes me feel so guilty that I don't cuddle her like I used to . She used to catch all my tears and go on my adventures in the basket of my pink bike. Those were the days right? One time I put 'nilla in my little baby stroller and tried to run away. I took a loaf of bread with me and thought that this plan would somehow work, like some bread and my teddy was all I needed to survive. I am pretty sure I was strongly influenced by the movie Jumangi, you know when he packs a loaf of bread in his briefcase? Anyways, we only made to the end of our block and then came back! haha, silly me.

I'm really content with Wild Flower right now. It feels like just yesterday I started this little blog. Look how far it has come! Quite amazing. I've made so many friends too, just in the past few months. There are tons of girls I would love to hang out with in real life, one day maybe? Then we could take pictures for each other, how much fun! :)

I bought and wore this dress for Halloween. Isn't it delightfully orange? I really wanted to cozy up today, was just one of those feelings that if I didn't dress totally comfortable I would be miserable all day. Luckily, this get up helped me through. As did the yummy hot chocolate and blueberry muffin I ate for breakfast. Also my classes got out two hours early, brightening my mood even further. And, for the grand finale, it rained. I love rain so terribly much!

Speaking of the weather, I could actually see my breath on the misty air while taking these lovely shots! Winter is coming and I admit to being really excited.

I know a lot of you complimented me on making the homepage on Chictopia yesterday and I just wanted to say thank you. It feels like forever since I was featured up there! It is always so thrilling to go on the home page and see myself haha. I wonder how the people that are always up there feel... must be nice! :)

Eek! I got a job. Finally, haha. I am hoping having a job won't affect my blogging schedule, but it might be a bit hard with the sun setting so early. I'll try my best though, don't worry about that. I'm quite excited for all the things I am going to buy my family for Christmas now that I have a source of income coming in. Yay!

One of my lovely readers asked me where I take my pictures and actually most of them are just taken in my yard. haha, lame answer, I know. Sometimes I'll venture out if I can get Zach to take my pictures, like the previous outfit post was taken at a bike trail near our house. We sort of live in the country so there are a million pretty places to take pictures. If only I could summon the courage to go out with my tri-pod in public. I did it one time by the side of the road. A car actually pulled over to stare at me while I took pictures. Ever since then it feels a bit sketchy, although probably would totally be fine. Maybe I will try that later this week :)

A Day To Remember -- I'm Made of Wax Larry What Are You Made Of?

This band, ADTR, used to be my absolute favorite a few years back. And this song was the absolute best. I saw them at Warped Tour a couple years ago with my friends. One of the best concerts I have ever been to. I will admit it was a bit scary and super crowded, but totally amazing. I ended up loosing my shoe somehow while being pushed around and then found it five minutes later! Lucky right? Good times, I miss my friends a lot from back home. We always knew how to have a good time and laugh at everything.

I went to take pictures today at 4:30 and the sun was already setting...

How adorable is the bunny print on this sweater I got it for my birthday in the summer. They only had a size small, so it's a bit tight on my arm ~~fat~~ muscles. Once it's on for a while it's really comfy though. I'm also glad to be wearing my pretty peach dress from New Look. I feel quite flustered when trying to match it with other colors, black seemed like the safe thing to do. Next time I am thinking deep green and orange!

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for all your lovely comments on my last outfit post. Glad I'm not alone in the "eat whatever I want because it is summer" club. Life's short, might as well live it to the best right? Hopefully not too short though, I still have tons of things I need to do. Like visit Stockholm and make candles in tea cups. Luckily I marked off make a black bow hair clip today. Always nice to cross things off that never ending to-do list.

Since we are talking about good news, I had an interview the other day and I didn't blush at all! Isn't that fantastic? Totally proud of myself. My chest might have gotten a little red, but that doesn't count! Right?

Anyone have any suggestions for how to con my boyfriend to take more pictures for me, he always does them so nicely!

Today's inspiration comes from one of my favorite online retailers, Modcloth. They recently released a lookbook called A Welcome Retreat. It was inspired by the pacific northwest and a show called Twin Peaks? Have you guys ever seen that, I saw one episode on Netflix, but unfortunately had to cancel my account before I got farther. I really love the whole pacific northwest feel though, it's cozy and warm and makes me want cups full of hot chocolate!

And I change the width to match that of all my pictures, which is 435 for me.

I'm having one of those days. You know, the kind where every simple thing seems to go wrong. I even had to shoot this outfit twice because I hated the first pictures so much. I've also realized that I am bigger than what I envision in my mind. Kind of a shattering realization. I've been baking too much... haha. But should it really bother me? It's not like I am heavy. And I still weigh much less than before my weight loss crusade a couple years ago. Which was done healthy with lots of boiled chicken and exercise. None the less I would love to just squeeze into a bikini next summer and feel beautiful. Probably an unrealistic goal though. Or maybe not, maybe I just feel that way because it is one of those days.

It's a friday night and I am sitting in my room. About to go read my book on World War I. Now don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic book, but how boring is that? I wish I had friends here on the East Coast to go and hang with on a friday evening. It's so hard to make new friends when you're shy. I'm working on getting over my constantly blushing thing though. I even bought liquid foundation. Which kind of scares me because I hardly wear make up, it feels so strange and alien.

Well enough about all my problems, let's get to the outfit. I really liked how this one came out. Blue and black is always a pleasure to mix for a strange reason. And the nice touch of gold in my scarf popped so well. I also wore my gold satchel today, but forgot to wear it while shooting. Over all this outfit was very comfy, cozy and warm. I'm quite glad I finally whipped out my favorite pair of knitted tights. They are so delightful! I'm not sure what I will do when they get hole... let's just hope that day never comes! Also can't get over these Diba boots, seriously best pair I own right now, can hardly take them off.

Hi Dolls,

Hope everyone had a spooktacular Halloween. Mine was great, and although caramel apples didn't go quite as planned, they came out extremely delicious. We even rolled them in salted peanuts, yum. I'm not really good at things in the kitchen normally, so it was typical that instead of making four we only had enough caramel for two! haha. Oh and a few lovlies asked how my orange chocolate chip cookies came out? Gooey, warm, and mouthwatering, they were perfect with a glass of milk :)

But enough of food, because I am starting to make myself hungry! These pictures are from the photo shoot I did with Serena. As you can imagine, she did an amazing job and I love how they turned out!

Serena did such an amazing job on all the pictures we took together, and now I am just itching to go back and take some more pictures myself at the same location. Even though I know they wouldn't turn out half as lovely. Thanks for the amazing photography Serena!

Today is the first of November, what? How did that happen! It hardly feels like November, except, I suppose, that the weather is freezing. I woke up this morning to take out my little Spooky, {yesterday was her birthday, she's three now!} and my feet were so cold on the stone path way I was forced to hop back and forth between feet. I am sure the neighbors thought I was going crazy, or trying to be a flamingo. They switch back and forth from one leg to the other, right? It was quite ridiculous, mainly because I was in jammies and I'm wearing a dragon shirt. I really hope no one saw!

Well the next holiday is Thanksgiving and I am excited for this one. I really want to try and make pie for my boyfriend's family. Not sure if that is beyond my cooking skills, but I believe I might be able to pull it off. I did used to work at pie place though, so hopefully that will help a little... :)

SNOW. That's right, it's snowing! I'm so excited. Since this is only my second year where I'm living in a climate that can snow, it just makes me so excited. It's like in the movies! I was going to take outfit pictures today with the lovely white background but my boyfriend's little sister took the tri-pod up to the lake house for the weekend. I suppose I should buy my own, because I am totally bummed I couldn't get any.

Hi darlings,

Sorry for being MIA as of late, everything has been a tad bit crazy. My boyfriend got a job that he likes, school has been all over the place, and the weather has been on a only rain when I am home and can take pictures sort of schedule.

Enough of that though, today is sort of a special post. Yesterday I had my first real "photo shoot" with a very lovely professional photographer, Serena Severtson. I am sure if you have been reading my blog for a little while you might have picked up on that fact that I am a little shy in real life. If not, well, it's definitely true. I tend to be blushing constantly. Serena found me through lookbook, and as it turns out we only live about fifteen minutes apart from each other! We decided to meet at a place in the middle between both our houses to do a shoot, just for fun. Normally Serena does wedding photography/ engagements, but this was just to mix things up a bit. I admit that at first I was a bit of a nervous reck, but it only took a minute for me to warm up to her, seriously one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. I think together we had quite a fun adventure!

I am surprised by how quickly she uploaded the pictures, edited them, and then sent them on over. Really awesome! They came out so great, she made me look like a model! I had a very hard time picking out which pictures to use on this post, so these are my favorites from the first outfit. Enjoy!

So what do you guys think? I can't get over how pretty all the colors are myself! If I had to rate my first photo shoot 1 through 10, I would definitely give it a 10. It was such a pleasant experience and I hope one day I could do it again. Thanks so much Serena!

I've been seen in lots of autumn colors lately. Completely inspired by the crisp air and all the leaves falling to the ground. Black appears to be a new autumn favorite as well. Today I finally found a plain black dress that I thought was cute, took ages to find. The only black dresses I could find had white collars or grey patterns, but nothing solid black. Luckily I found a pretty long sleeved one at Forever21. Recently I have been trying to not buy things with patterns, I think it would help my wardrobe tons to have a few plain pieces. None the less I saw millions of pretty florals I wanted and a really cute horse print too, it was so difficult not to cave to my wants. I probably shouldn't be buying plain things either however, need to start saving up for Christmas goodies!

I was rather inspired by own inspiration post the other day, haha. I had to wear a burgundy sweater as soon as possible!

Hope everyone had a smooth monday, it's always the hardest day for me, but tuesday is on the best so it balances out. :)

The lovely heart shaped cameo you see above was a gift from my mummy. She bought it while on her vacation to Italy a few weeks ago. I've been wanting to wear it, but wanted the perfect outfit to go with. And this is what I came up with! The Topshop dress is also a gift from mum, isn't she amazing and picking out things I will love?

For many obvious reasons the woods is one of my favorite places to take pictures during autumn. For one the colors are always so striking. And just being surrounded by nature brightens my mood so much. I liked how the water ones turned out a few days ago, so I figured why not take some next the creek in my backyard. I really think they came out well, now that I think about it, that's probably why this post is so picture heavy! It was also a good work out for me because I had trek down and then back up the giant hill which takes me to the little creek. Also in the woods, there is no one to stare at me and give me funny faces as to why I am taking pictures of myself with a tri-pod! Silly people.

The only colors I currently want to wear are maroon, brown, orange, rust, dark green, mustard, and pumpkin. They look so pretty against the scenery outside! I love love love autumn.

Loggins and Messina -- Danny's Song

I've been wanting to take pictures in these pants since I got them back in July... Hooray for finally getting it done! I found these cheetah print beauties on a lonely shelf at Urban Outfitters. To my amazement they were 34 inseam instead of the regular 32, which means they would be long enough for me. Now these pants are a total dream, since normally the only pants made in longer length is plain blue jean, but there is one issue. It's one of those kind that after wearing them for a few hours, they have stretched quite a large amount. Of course when buying them I didn't know this would happen and went with the less "tight" size. Which is a bit stinky because they get all wrinkly and saggy by the end of the day. None the less, totally worth it for the wonderful print.

Today was so chilly out, it felt like the real autumn I have been searching for. Unfortunately we have had windy and rainy weather lately so almost all the pretty colored leaves are gone. A shame really. Now it's just half green and half naked branches. Within the next week or so the green leftovers should turn pretty though, I really want a lovely autumn background for pictures!

Tomorrow is Friday, thank goodness!

Happy Birthday!

Zach's 20th birthday went very well yesterday. I went and bought him Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast. He loves those bagel egg things, and then after eating we went and cuddled for a couple hours. As previously mentioned, we went out to Japanese food for dinner and I ordered shrimp and filet mingon. It was so delicious, except those places give you way too much food! But the veggies were probably my favorite part, they really know how to cook so yummy broccoli and onions.

After the main meal Zach got a free piece of cheesecake with a cute green umbrella in it!

Once we returned home from dinner the opening of presents began. He received new jeans, a nice flannel top, pink buckey balls, a silly beanie (which I bought), x-box live card, and his main present was the new white ipad.

Doesn't he look so handsome with a beard? :)

Of course he took the ipad to school today and has barely been able to put it down! I must admit it's quite pretty!

Unfortunately I can't post any outfit pictures today, even though I really wanted to. I have so much school work and reading to catch up on. Plus it has been raining/ misting all day. And right now I am off to go make some tea with the tea cup my mum bought from Italy! Have a great day ladies.

This is one of the Dahlia dresses I bought from the Modcloth sale a few weeks ago. I've been waiting to wear it with tights, since it's on the short side for my long legs. This weekend was terrific. As I mentioned before my father was in town on saturday night and then left on sunday morning. My boyfriend and I took him to a barn party with amazing pulled pork and a wonderfully warm bonfire. It was great to sit around and talk through the night, plus there was a harvest moon! We also went out to breakfast sunday morning and I had the best tasting omelet. Nom.

After my dad left I went to the bike trail with my boyfriend's little sister, Molly. The bike trail by our house is on old train tracks {which they removed} so it's completely flat and runs through the forest. There is also a river that runs by right next to it. As we were riding along the sun was about to set and I could smell fires from houses near by. I had this cozy warm feeling of happiness and it was the first time this year that I am excited for the upcoming holidays! There is no better time then around Christmas and Thanksgiving. Lots of family get togethers and gifts and amazing home cooked meals.

Speaking of gifts, tomorrow is Zach's birthday! We are going out to dinner at one of the Japanese restaurants where they cook all the food right in front of you. I'll definitely be ordering shrimp and veggies, yum. I can't wait for him to open up his gifts, I promise to take pictures!

Hey everyone, I have great news! My camera is not broken. It's rather silly really, I accidentally pushed a button and set my camera to single point focus.. oops. But all is well again and today I finished one of my midterms. All that studying paid off because it was a breeze. Plus now I know almost everything about the crust, mantle, ocean floor, etc. Exciting right? Today during my break at school I went to Subway with Zach, my boyfriend, and it was sooo delicious! And healthy, which I was happy about because I had also eatn a healthy breakfast. Unfortunately I came home and made cookies... so much for my healthy habits haha. Fresh baked cookies on a cold foggy day though, totally worth it.

I am quite proud of this outfit. My first real "autumn colored" look. And two of these items are from Etsy. One the bow, which you have seen me wear before, it's a perfect color and size for the back of my head. Secondly this amazingly pretty autumn patterned dress. I bought it a couple months ago, but wanted to wait till the leaves changed to wear it. Now I know it looks super cute, and I really love it, but it fits weird on my body. I already had it tailored because the chest area was way too large. But even so the bodice is a bit too long and the armpits are a little comfortable. The bodice part is my fault, because I told her to extend it a little since I'm tall. I think the lesson from this dress though is make sure your measurements are completely correct. None the less it still looks adorable with a belt around the middle!

And perhaps my body is just shaped weird? Who knows!

My papa is coming to visit me this weekend, it's been a few months, so I am really excited. Maybe I should bake him some oatmeal cookies, since I have been in the cookie mood lately. Then again, I might eat them all before he has the chance to arrive.. I tend to do that with food I make for other people haha.

As it turns out I am having a bit of camera trouble. Naturally I am in denial that anything could be wrong with my most perfect camera or my most wonderful lens. Right now I am hoping something is awry with the remote I bought. Crosses fingers. My camera appears to only focus on things in the background, which is pretty strange to me. I'm going to have to work on it tomorrow and hopefully find the solution. Today I have been swamped with school work and I updated some little things on my layout, which seemed to take hours! Funny how absorbed I can get on the computer. Then I look up and what I thought was a minute was actually an hour. Oops.

But now I must study a little more and then sleep, hopefully an actual outfit update tomorrow!

Hello darlings

I've realized lately that my outfits have been all over the place. From really girly and cute to grungy and dark, and there is sort of a reason for it. The truth being I am stuck in the middle between who I am currently and who I want to be, or rather how I want to be perceived. If I could describe myself as I am now I would say girly, cute, young, innocent, vintage. But what I want to be is a little bit tougher, a girl who is viewed as independent and a little bit sexy, but combined with vintage and girly, not innocent. Of course I batter back and forth between these ideas on a daily basis, which is why my outfits are hectic. I am so sick lately of being seen as just the innocent girl, mainly because this is how it has been my whole life. I feel my sweet looks lack maturity and it drives me crazy. Just this weekend alone I changed my outfit god knows how many times. I wish I fully understood who I am and honestly I am scared I will never know.

I suppose my kitty understands all my stress and frustration because she just curled up in a ball on my chest. :) Oh animals, how they make life so much brighter. I don't mean to rant here, I just need to get it out somehow. Letting someone know how I truly feel is so lifting. Hopefully I can figure things out before I literally do become batty!

This last picture was taken during an outfit shoot last October. Aren't those colors radical, and I barely edited this, only brightened it up a little.

Alright so you might be wondering why Smitten Saturday is on a Sunday this week. Well, yesterday morning I woke up around ten, ate some Special K cereal, checked on the blog a little, put in some laundry. In other words it was a typical Saturday, but then my boyfriend decided to take me out! He took me to a historical house where you can go on a tour and walk through the gardens and see what it is like to live in the 1700s. And since I am crazy about history it was such a blast. They didn't allow photography inside the home, which totally bummed me out because I wanted to share with you my future house! Okay, you caught me, I probably won't ever live there, but a girl can dream. It was the largest house below the Mason Dixon line during the 18th century. I took a few pictures there, I'll have to see how they came out later today and hopefully can post a few tomorrow.

After our wonderful historic date my guy took me to Panera and the movies. We saw 50/50, and honestly, it was one of the best movies I have seen a long time. It feels like movies weren't that great over the summer, so this was a splendid and much needed surprise. It's about a young man who gets cancer, but it is just the perfect amount of sadness and happiness. I only cried once!

I bought a backpack for school today! Urban Outfitters opened a store that's actually close to where I live, it's so exciting. And I wanted everything in there, they had some seriously amazing sweaters. I can't wait to go back.

I am still in love with the color of this dress, so elegant and pretty. I felt a little bad ass in this outfit and I am head over heels for these boots.

I was going to take pictures yesterday, I got all dressed up and did a beehive hair do again, it looked so pretty. However, I was going to my boyfriend's sister birthday dinner and took like five wrong turns. Which sadly meant I didn't get to the restaurant till it was almost completely dark. The restaurant is right on the Bay and has a dock and everything that would have made for a beautiful back drop. The GPS got extremely confused, and it was so stressful. On a better note my boyfriend ordered fried mac & cheese and forced me to try it. It sounds completely awful, and well, it surely is not healthy, but my taste buds were so happy! It was like cheesy hash browns or something, mmm, so yummy. I also had a piece of carrot cake for desert, so pretty much I gained five pounds in one meal. :)

I want to say that I am still in shock about Steve Jobs death. I know he was terribly sick, and looked awful, but still, I can't believe he is gone. As an avid Apple user, I'm devastated. So depressing.

All of the reviews weren't very good because they all said the torso was too long and made them look baggy. Luckily, a short torso is normally my problem, so I knew this one would be perfect! And it is, totally cute and romantic. And it is even better that it only cost under 20 dollars.

Can any of you believe it is already October, it feels like school only started a week ago! I'm extremely excited for this month though. My boyfriend has his 20th birthday and my dad is going to visit me for a day two weeks from now! It's hard living far away from him, he's really the most amazing person I have ever met. Also this month I feel a lot of baking coming on. All I want is to make pies and muffins and drink tons of vanilla tea. I started last night actually, with a warm french apple pie and probably to much whipped cream.

Two Dahlia dress posts in a row, isn't that amazing? I love this one, especially the detail in the back and the blue velvet on top :)

Unfortunately it rained the whole time I was gone at the lake this weekend, which didn't mean as many pretty pictures as I had hoped. The only positive is my boyfriend and I cuddled a lot and drank hot chocolate! It was seriously so cold out. On sunday morning it was 34 degrees. Yikes, it's barely October haha. I had a really good time, wish we could go up to his families lake/ farm house more often.

I hope you darlings had a splendid weekend, seems like everyone had a bit of a temperature dip. Except for Italy, my mum is there right now, and says it's 80 degrees, must be nice!

Hi sweets.

My package from Modcloth arrived today. :) I am thrilled with everything I bought from the sale. I wore my new and lovely oxfords today, pictured above, and they are so comfy. I adore the little silver studs on them. Also in my Modcloth package of goodies was the two Dahlia dresses I ordered. I couldn't be happier, they are so unique, pretty, girly, amazing, gorgeous, and did I mention pretty?

I'm going to be out of town this weekend so I won't be able to update till sunday evening or sometime on monday. I promise to take lots of pictures though!

Well how do you like it? I finally managed to get somewhat of a beehive hair do going on. Thanks to the lovely lady Lauren, of Someone Like You. I asked her to put up a tutorial of how she does her adorable beehive, because it always looks amazing, and she actually posted one. And one I could understand! Normally I get confused with online tutorials. Hers was simple and to the point. I like how it turned out, but still could use some work. :)

Hooray for pretty leaves falling on the ground. I can't wait for October and November, definitely two best months of the year!

So I have been waiting for this day for some time it seems. And it has finally come! Today is the super giant and amazing Modcloth Sale! Everything is cheap and I can't help but get all excited. I did indeed buy two Dahlia dresses from the sale each one under 30 dollars! Eeeek. So happy. I can't wait for my package to arrive in the mail. Monday went by pretty well here. I got a lot done in the past two days so that always feels very relieving and satisfying. The blog also reached 250 followers! Which is crazy and amazing. Plus it's so wonderful to know that my style, even though I lack in expressing myself through words, is getting through to people. My style is who I am. No set in stone niche. Just Kaylee.

I know it might seem a little silly, but I had been hiding my blog from all the people I knew in real life. Except my boyfriend and mom. But yesterday I told my two bestfriends. I wish I had told them earlier, they are so supportive :) It feels great that they know too, a huge relief. You might be asking how my two bestfriends didn't know about a blog that I update plenty times a week, but we live across the country from each other. I moved to the east coast last year and they are still on the west. It's hard sometimes, but I'm glad to know they are still there for me!
